All cakes ship nationwide with two-day transit once they leave the bakery—not two days from the date you place your order. Most orders require 3–5 business days for preparation before shipping.

Choose your requested delivery date in the shopping cart. For birthdays and celebrations, Southern Roots recommends requesting delivery at least one day before your event and allowing extra time during holidays. Requested nationwide delivery dates are not guaranteed, as carrier delays may occur.

San Antonio local delivery is available Monday–Saturday and requires at least 24 hours’ advance notice. Select Local Delivery in the shopping cart, then choose an available delivery date and time.

We freeze each cake to lock in freshness, then pack it in an insulated cooler with dry ice. This keeps it cold during transit so it arrives looking and tasting just as it left our bakery.

Dry ice may completely dissipate during shipping. Open your package promptly and check the cake’s condition and temperature before serving. If your cake arrives warm, damaged or in an unexpected condition, contact Southern Roots with your order number and photos before consuming it. Follow the storage and thawing instructions included with your order.

Yes — you can pre-order up to a year in advance and pick your date at checkout. For nationwide orders, we recommend choosing a date 1–2 days before your event. For San Antonio local delivery, we ask for at least 24 hours’ notice.

If not serving immediately, keep frozen. Thaw 1–2 hours before serving at room temperature. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 5 days, airtight. Do not refreeze once thawed.
