Cara’s grandmother, Mary Lee, moved in with her family when Cara was 8 and taught her the joy of real Southern food—warm, generous, never short on flavor. Years later, when our family leaned into more plant-based eating after Marcus went vegan, Cara set out to recreate those same nostalgic bakes with all-vegan ingredients and the same melt-in-your-mouth texture.
